The Mission of Jesus

Love and Social Justice

Key Points

1.Jesus publicly declared His identity as the Messiah in Nazareth by fulfilling Isaiah's prophecy to serve the poor, captive, blind, and oppressed.
2.Following Jesus is not about demanding a performance or asking what He can do for us, but allowing Him to perform a work of transformation in us.
3.Jesus did not merely come to preach deliverance and freedom; He came to be our deliverance, freedom, and hope.
4.Biblical history shows that God's heart has consistently moved toward outsiders, foreigners, widows, and the overlooked.
5.The hometown crowd became angry not because Jesus claimed to be the Messiah, but because He revealed that God's grace extends beyond their inner circle to outsiders.
6.We are often eager to receive God's grace, but we struggle and grumble when called to extend that same grace to others.
7.While choosing to follow Jesus is optional, how we follow Him and love others after saying yes is not optional.
8.Jesus values, pursues, and came for all people because every human being is made in the image of God.

This Week

Identify your 'One More'—the person in your life closest to you but farthest from Jesus—and start praying for them daily.
Invite your 'One More' or a neighbor to join you at church this coming Sunday.
Shift your perspective when interrupted by others, viewing unexpected interactions as God-given opportunities to demonstrate love.
Reflect on whether you are seeking Jesus for what He can give you or allowing Him to transform your heart.
Participate in local outreach, food bank drives, or service projects in your community to serve the poor and needy.
Reach out to care and recovery ministries or biblical counseling if you are carrying unresolved pain, trauma, or addiction.
Actively extend grace to someone in your daily life who looks, thinks, or lives differently than you do.

Remember This

Jesus came for all people, especially the broken and the outsider, and true discipleship means carrying His loving heart to everyone we meet.

A Challenge for You

Following Jesus has never been about consuming more church. It's about carrying the heart of Jesus wherever we go and to everybody we know.
