Hello Pastor ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose information when you use our website at hellopastor.ai and our mobile app (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

Data We Collect

Conversation data. When you chat with Hello Pastor, we process the messages you send and the responses generated so we can provide pastoral insights and biblical context. This includes the text of your conversations.

Prayer requests. If you submit a public prayer request, we collect the information you provide, which may include your first name, prayer request, and email address. A request made through Hello Pastor is shared with members of the Hello Pastor community so that they can pray for you; a request made through a church or community's own prayer page is shared with that organization's prayer team. Your first name is optional — leave it blank to stay anonymous. Your email address is never shown to the people praying; we use it only to let you know when someone has prayed. When you pray for someone or share Scripture or a teaching with them, the person who asked sees your first name. Private prayer links should be treated as confidential.

Account information. Creating an account is optional; you can use much of the Service without one. If you sign up with email, Google, or Apple, we collect your email address and the name you provide. We use your email to sign you in, keep your notes, studies, and communities in sync across your devices, and send you messages about your account and activity, such as when someone prays for you or a Bible study you joined is coming up. We do not sell your email address or show it to other users.

Technical and usage information. We may collect information such as device type, browser, and general usage (e.g., that you used the chat) to operate and improve the Service. We may use analytics that do not identify you personally.

Third-Party AI and How Your Data Is Processed

Hello Pastor uses artificial intelligence to generate responses. To provide this feature, we use Google's Gemini (a third-party AI service). When you send a message:

• The content of your conversation (including your messages and relevant context we add, such as sermon insights or verse references) is sent to Google to generate a response.
• This processing is necessary to deliver the pastoral and biblical insights you request.
• We do not sell your chat data. We do not use your conversations to train third-party AI models for purposes unrelated to providing the Service.

Google's handling of data is subject to Google's privacy policy. We encourage you to review it if you want to understand how they process data received from services like ours.

Use of Collected Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve the Service (including generating AI responses), to understand how the Service is used, and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information or conversation data.

Disclosure of Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information or chat content. We may share information only as needed to operate the Service (for example, with our AI provider as described above), to comply with law, or to protect our rights and safety. We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

Your Choices and Data on Your Device

You can stop using the Service at any time. If you use our mobile app and have entered a name or other profile data, that data is stored on your device; you can clear it by clearing the app's data in your device settings. You can delete your account and its data at any time from the Account screen in the app; see how to delete your account for the steps, including how to ask without the app, and what is deleted or kept. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
