Take this message with you through a journey of Scripture, reflection, and prayer.

Summary

Even when our life circumstances look messy and far from what we originally envisioned, God remains in control and actively works behind the scenes. By replacing expired mindsets, fear, and distorted filters with God's truth, believers can see themselves clearly and step boldly into their divine purpose. Equipping every believer with the same Holy Spirit power that raised Jesus from the dead, God calls us to move beyond prayer into active, courage-filled obedience.

Pastor's Points

Delete the old photo

2.

Get the right lens

3.

Step into the frame

Key Points

1.
Delete the old photo: Believers must discard expired mindsets and past identities to receive fresh heavenly vision from God.
2.
Get the right lens: Unhealthy filters like trauma, fear, or scarcity distort spiritual reality and prevent us from experiencing God's full abundance.
3.
Step into the frame: While prayer and fasting are vital spiritual disciplines, believers must eventually step into active obedience and take bold steps of faith.
4.
Even when current reality looks messy or far from what we imagined, God is actively working behind the scenes and His picture for our lives remains perfect.
5.
Clinging to expired thinking harms spiritual health, just like consuming expired food; we must intentionally surrender outdated mindsets to God.
6.
God surrounds us with community because others often see the favor, strength, and purpose in us that our own distorted filters prevent us from seeing.
7.
The exact same Holy Spirit resurrection power that raised Jesus from the grave lives within every believer, equipping us with supernatural boldness to fulfill our calling.

Sermon Moments

“Sometimes when we take a step back and look at reality, it doesn't line up with the picture in our minds—yet our God is in control and working behind the scenes.”

“We can be dressed as a queen on the outside while still thinking like an orphan on the inside.”

“Consuming expired thoughts from our past will only harm us; it is time to delete the old photo.”

“A filter not only changes the way we look, but it distorts our spiritual reality.”

“God does not give us visions and dreams to torment us—His picture for your life is perfect.”

“It is so easy for us to see what God can do in another person, but we must allow God to help us see ourselves through His eyes too.”

“It is good to pray and fast, but there comes a 'third day' when prayerful preparation must lead to active obedience.”

“The exact same resurrection power that raised Christ from the grave lives inside of you today.”

This Week

Identify and 'delete' one old, expired mindset or past identity that is currently holding you back from stepping into God's vision for your life.

Examine the mental and emotional lens you are using to view your current challenges—whether it is trauma, fear, or scarcity—and ask God to align your perspective with His truth.

Intentionally speak words of identity and godly encouragement to someone in your family, group, or church community this week.

Stop holding back out of fear of imposter syndrome; remind yourself that you are called and blessed by God rather than merely lucky.

Transition from prayer and fasting to concrete obedience by taking a direct step toward a challenge or opportunity God has set before you.

Meditate on Romans 8:11 whenever you feel intimidated, remembering that the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead resides in you.

Invite trusted Christian friends into your life to help you see the spiritual gifts, strength, and favor God has placed within you.

Remember This

Even when reality seems messy, God is sovereignly working behind the scenes, and His Spirit equips us to drop old mindsets and step boldly into His perfect vision for our lives.

A Challenge for You

Go forth knowing that you are not going alone, but with the very same Holy Spirit power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead on the third day.
