Pastor's Points
Key Points
- 1.Believers are instructed in 1 Corinthians 12 not to be uninformed about the spiritual gifts distributed individually by the Holy Spirit for the profit of all.
- 2.Jesus promised in John 14:12 that those who believe in Him will do the works He did and even greater things through prayer in His name.
- 3.Spiritual gifts are "go gifts" meant to accompany believers as they step out into the world, share the gospel, and serve hurting people.
- 4.Being born of the Spirit changes a believer's identity, empowering them to walk in victory rather than living according to the flesh.
- 5.Believers should not fear spiritual gifts, but receive them joyfully like birthday or Christmas presents from a loving God.
- 6.All spiritual gifts must be motivated and led by Agape love; any gift exercised outside of love is manipulative and worthless.
