Kept: The Keeping Grace of God
Sunday, August 16, 2026
Part of Awesome August: Bases LoadedSummary
This sermon focuses on Jude 24-25, highlighting that the ultimate security of a believer rests entirely in God's keeping power rather than human strength. Even when we face seasons of weak faith, silent prayers, and spiritual dangers, God's grace actively prevents our stumbling from becoming our final ruin. Believers are encouraged to find comfort and confidence in the truth that we are preserved by an almighty God who will safely present us blameless in His presence.Key Scriptures

Pastor's Points
- 1.The keeper is able to guard us in the present
- 2.The keeper is able to make us stand in His presence
- 3.The keeper deserves the glory for the whole story
Key Points
- 1.The keeper is able to guard us in the present, moving our focus away from our own limited capacity to God's unlimited ability.
- 2.The keeper is able to make us stand in His presence, preparing a ultimate destination where we will stand blameless with great joy.
- 3.The keeper deserves the glory for the whole story, shifting all credit for our spiritual survival from our works to His sovereign hand.
- 4.There are seasons of life that we cannot explain by our own strategies, discipline, or efforts; our survival in those times is solely due to God's intervention.
- 5.The deeper testimony of a Christian is not merely 'I made it through' but rather 'I was kept by the hand of God.'
- 6.Being 'kept from stumbling' does not mean believers will never make mistakes, experience confusion, or face trials, but that God will not let those moments become our final spiritual ruin.
- 7.Our perseverance in faith is active and real, but it is entirely dependent on and sustained by God's primary keeping work.
- 8.Sometimes God's keeping grace feels uncomfortable and manifests as correction, closed doors, or divine interruptions intended to protect our souls from destruction.

This Week
- Stop resting your assurance on the strength of your own grip on God, and start resting in the strength of His grip on you.
- Acknowledge the times you have stumbled, but refuse to let those stumbles become your permanent spiritual destination.
- Accept divine corrections, interruptions, and closed doors as active expressions of God's keeping grace rather than rejections.
- Actively build yourself up in the faith this week by spending consistent, focused time reading and meditating on God's Word.
- Commit to praying in the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to guide your prayers when your own words and understanding fail.
- Show compassionate mercy to those around you who are wrestling with doubts or experiencing weak seasons in their faith.
- Praise God right now in the middle of your current trial, refusing to wait until the battle is over to declare His glory, majesty, and dominion.
Remember This
We do not survive the dangers of this spiritual journey by the perfection of our own grip on God, but because His faithful, almighty hand is holding on to us.
A Challenge for You
Do not wait for your trials to end before you give God the honor He is due. Praise the Keeper right now in the middle of your struggle, knowing that He is fully able to carry you all the way home.Keep growing this week
