Our emotions and soul often mimic the leading of the Holy Spirit, deceiving us into following our own desires rather than God's will. Because the soul—comprising our mind, emotions, will, affections, and imagination—is tightly intertwined with our spirit like joints and marrow, we cannot rely on feeling alone to know God's voice.
