Summary

In this discussion on divine encounters and miraculous healing, Pastor Bobby Schuller shares personal testimonies and biblical principles highlighting God's supernatural power. He explores how intercessory prayer and fasting can bring healing even when the recipient lacks initial faith, and emphasizes that spiritual gifts are active today for all who remain humble. Believers are encouraged to step out in obedience, lay hands on the sick, and allow the Holy Spirit to direct every spiritual gift.

Key Points

1.
God answers intercessory prayer and fasting even when the person in need lacks faith or awareness that others are praying.
2.
Spiritual gifts and God's power are not reserved for a specific type of person, as God works powerfully through highly intellectual people who maintain humility.
3.
Academic and intellectual focus can sometimes hinder spiritual growth when individuals get overly stuck in their minds rather than relying on the Spirit.
4.
Miraculous physical healing is a divine work of God and not merely a psychological or placebo effect.
5.
God can work through another believer's spiritual gift of faith to restore the body and demonstrate His power when the recipient feels weak or skeptical.
6.
Scripture emphasizes the laying on of hands as a key pathway for imparting divine healing through simple obedience rather than physical force or theatrical effort.
7.
Spiritual gifts such as prophecy, words of knowledge, and physical healing must always be prompted and guided by the Holy Spirit rather than manufactured on demand.

Sermon Moments

“I woke up the next morning and my hearing was 100% restored. I didn't take a medicine... I didn't even pray.”

“Martin stayed up all night praying for me and fasting, and God heard her prayer and I was healed.”

“Placebo is just a spiritual thing... because you're an academic, you can just put the word placebo on it, but that doesn't mean it's not spiritual.”

“The academic world can actually be a place that kills the spirit because you become so focused on impressing peers rather than learning.”

“Spiritual gifts are not reserved for a specific type of person—God moves in power through scientists, doctors, and highly educated individuals who remain humble.”

“The Bible emphasizes a lot the power that's in your hands and the laying on of hands.”

“All of these gifts are led by the Spirit and done by the Spirit; we open ourselves and listen to the Lord rather than trying to activate gifts on a whim.”
