Titus
Instructions for organizing the church in Crete
Paul wrote this letter to Titus about AD 66 or 67 from Nicopolis in Epirus, following his release from imprisonment in Rome. Titus was a Gentile minister whom Paul had left behind to preside over the church in Crete and set things in order. Writing around the same time as First Timothy, Paul gave instructions on the qualifications needed for appointing church officers. He also wrote to caution Titus against prevailing corruptions and misdirected cares.
