Song of Solomon
An allegorical poem of love between bridegroom and bride
Also called "Canticles" or the "song of songs," this book is traditionally credited to King Solomon as the product of his pen. Although some have questioned his authorship, both internal and external evidence fairly establish that Solomon wrote it. It was written as an allegorical poem, praised as the finest and most precious song of its kind. Through the emblem of a bridegroom and a bride, the book sets forth the mutual love of Christ and the Church.
