Luke
An orderly narrative of Jesus for the Hellenic world
This Gospel is traditionally credited to Luke, who prepared it for the Hellenic world. Luke was not an eyewitness of the Lord’s ministry. Instead, he gathered facts from the best sources available to write an orderly narrative under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The book was probably written about AD 60 or 63. At that time, Luke may have been in Caesarea attending to Paul, who was a prisoner. Alternatively, it may have been written during Paul’s imprisonment in Rome.
