Jude
An urgent warning against false teachers
Judas, the brother of James the Less (also called Lebbaeus and Thaddaeus), wrote this letter to Christians in general. He wrote it during the later period of the apostolic age, about AD 66 or 70, apparently in Palestine. At that time, people who had heard the apostles preach were still alive. Believers were exposed to the misleading efforts of licentious apostates and errorists who perverted gospel doctrines. Judas wrote an impassioned warning to put Christians on their guard, depicting the corrupt character of these false teachers and highlighting examples of divine vengeance on the ungodly.
