Habakkuk
A prophet's complaints and faith facing invading Chaldeans
Habakkuk wrote this book, probably about 650-627 BC, or a few years later. In spirit, the prophet saw the formidable power of the Chaldeans approaching and menacing his land. Seeing the great evils they would cause in Judea, Habakkuk brought his complaints and doubts before the just and pure God. The future punishment of the Chaldeans was revealed to him. Facing the destruction of his country, the prophet's inspired heart contended with his hope that the enemy would be chastised.
