Acts
The history of the church's growth from Jerusalem to Rome
The book of Acts does not name its author, but it is traditionally credited to Luke, the beloved physician and Paul's companion. It was probably written in Rome between AD 61 and about AD 63, during Paul's first imprisonment. The narrative covers the spread of Christianity from Pentecost in AD 33 to about AD 63. It records the initial steps in founding churches among Jews and Gentiles, focusing mainly on the work of Peter and Paul.
