2 Timothy
Paul's final letter from a Roman prison
Paul wrote this letter from Rome to Timothy, his young companion and "son in the faith." Sent by the hands of Tychicus, it was written probably a year or so after 1 Timothy. Paul was a prisoner in Rome for a second time, anticipating that "the time of his departure was at hand." He urged Timothy to come to him before winter and bring Mark, along with his cloak and parchments left at Troas. Paul exhorted this evangelist to be steadfast, patient under persecution, and faithful in discharging all his duties.
