A final warning and encouragement before death
The apostle Peter wrote this letter shortly before his death. Written near the end of his life, the letter includes eleven references to the Old Testament. It also contains a remarkable reference to the epistles of Paul, which some think refers to First Thessalonians. At the time of writing, Peter was facing his own death, and Paul’s letters were already being read and recognized alongside Old Testament Scripture.
