2 Corinthians
Affection, instructions, and defense of apostleship
Paul wrote this letter early in AD 58, probably from Philippi or Thessalonica in Macedonia. He addressed it to the church in Corinth and to all the saints in Achaia. Paul had recently left Ephesus after intense excitement was aroused against him. Traveling to Macedonia, he met Titus, who brought encouraging news about how the Corinthians responded to his first letter. Stirred by this report, Paul wrote to express his affection, give directions for a collection for poor believers in Judea, and defend his apostleship against false teachers.
